Ptilotus Press
...about us
Ptilotus Press is a community publishing enterprise based in Alice Springs. It has evolved over the past seven years and is an initiative of an informal group of local writers.
We are a non-profit and any surplus funds from book sales is put back into producing our next publication.
Since the original writing group’s inception over ten years ago we have been supported by the Literature Board of the Australia Council, Arts NT, The NT Writers’ Centre, Alice Springs Town Council Community Grant, Alice Springs Art Foundation, Alice Springs Festival and The Friends of Araluen.
We
have benefited from a range of master classes and creative writing
workshops from visiting writers including Barry Hill, Judith
Rodriguez, Dorothy Porter, Jan Owen, Kate Grenville, Mike Ladd of ABC
Radio’s Poetica, Peter Bishop from Varuna – The Writers’
House,
and the greatly missed Glenda Adams who conducted a series of lectures
for our ‘Write in the Centre’ project in 2005.
